How to Use and Not Use Texting for a Great First Date

What are the do’s and don’ts of texting when you are on the verge of dating?  How do you know?  It is all very confusing for sure. My special guest on the Bounce Back show on webtalkradio, Vanessa Taylor, shared her experience and expertise with us. Vanessa is the author of Text. Love. Power: The Ultimate Guide for Texting and Dating in the New Millennium.

Texting Taboos for the Early Stages of Dating

Vanessa hopes to guide women to use the good features of texting— and not texting —to pique a man’s interest early in the courtship phase.  Her advice transcends age so women sixteen to sixties can apply her formula.  There are rules that she prescibes about limiting the number of texts per day, limiting texts based on the time of the day (not late at night) and when it’s OK and not OK to text on weekends.  In fact, Vanessa’s book is based on “The Rules“, the runaway best seller by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider.

Vanessa advises that it is OK to stop texting even after you have started.  Many women need to overcome their fears of stopping the free flow of texts to men 24/7.  This can be an issue for business women. There are better ways to achieve effective relationship communication.

Your Goal

You want to be the “it” woman. You want to be the woman who gets the date, not in the friend zone with casual plans.  Or the group thing.  No, that just won’t do for you.  You are too busy. Then you can have a great first date because you know that he wants to be with you. You can relax and have a good time, a fun first date.  And as a busy woman, not to waste your time with men who don’t highly value you.

Vanessa reveals common texting taboos and tells us about the “Rules.”  Her message is designed for single women, divorcees, teens, and women with friends who are texting while dating; it’s simply against the rules.

Vanessa explains how texting affects feminine power early in the relationship.  And feminine power affects your happiness on many levels.

And at the end of the show, I share my weekly Just Say No to the Status Quo TM tip featuring ways to use texting for positive results in relationships. So before you send that next text, listen in.
